Land & Sea is a digital channel that provides content related to sidestream music. Its aim is to spotlight Indonesia’s local indie musicians, thereby broadening exposure and allowing the masses to explore their music, perspectives, and journeys. The name "Land & Sea" holds a philosophical meaning: music is created in the liminal space between the land and sea of the earth. This state of in-between creation fosters a sense of joy for those who experience the work. This new brand identity is rooted in the true meaning of the brand's philosophical graphic universe: the land and the sea. It's a fusion of wise, modern, and playful visuals that collide to express the ecosystem of sidestream enjoyment and the unique vibes of Land & Sea.
The Key Visual
To strengthen the brand's character and consistency, the visuals employ a gradient system for tone. Meanwhile, the layout utilizes a modern grid system to emphasize its dynamic nature.
Logotype
The logotype represents the conflicting characters of hard, strong, and solid ground (Land) with the fluid, elegant, and alluring movement of the water (Sea).
Even though both ‘LAND’ and ‘SEA’ use the same Sans Serif typeface, the ‘LAND’ is designed to be bold to show a solid unwavering character. The ‘SEA’ on the other hand uses the regular one to show the opposite character. The ‘&’ between them is designed to stand in Script to show the joy and pleasure that emanate between them.
Logogram & Brand Colours
The logogram is inspired by the blurred horizon where seawater meets the shore's edge. Its gradient is simplified into a rectangle, which can be used generatively. Additionally, this scheme becomes the defining color of the Land & Sea brand.
